COMMUNITY CORN ROAST FOR NEW HOSPICE ON WEST PARK CAMPUS

Join Rotary Toronto-Leaside September 16 at Trace Manes Park and help bring world-leading
residential hospice to Toronto

The Rotary Club of Toronto-Leaside announced last week that The Toronto Commandery Hospice at Concetta Conforzi Place will be its new focus to raise funds and promote public awareness of the desperate need for hospice care in the GTA.

Leaside Rotary’s first event in support of the Hospice will be:

Leaside Rotary’s Community Corn Roast
Time:                    Noon to 5:00 PM
Date:                     Sunday, September 16, 2018-08-17
Where:                  Trace Manes Park
110 Rumsey Rd, East York, ON M4G 1S8

The new Hospice will be located at the West Park Health Care Centre’s Campus as part of the new Non-Hospital Development, a health care related complex that will complement the Health Care Centre, now undergoing a complete redevelopment.

Complementing West Park’s services, the Development will broaden the continuum of care available on the campus with housing and related services for seniors and people with disabilities, including supportive housing, hospice, community-based services and doctors' offices.

The Toronto Commandery Hospice will provide an option to individuals and their families who for whatever reason cannot die at home but do not wish to spend their last days in hospital. A residential hospice, it will provide a home-like setting where a skilled, palliative care team provides compassionate care.  The focus of hospice care is comfort rather than cure with a holistic approach to care where end of life is affirmed as a natural process and quality of life is a priority. Support, comfort, pain management and dignity are maintained.

Join Toronto-Leaside Rotary in supporting hospice care in our community.
