Celebrating George Hurst: A Beacon of Community Service

On October 27, our community came together to honor one of its most dedicated members, George Hurst, who was awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal for his outstanding contributions to the Leaside community.

For those of you who know George, consider yourselves fortunate! His kindness, intelligence, and friendly demeanor have made a lasting impact on everyone he meets. As a club, we are immensely proud of George and feel privileged to have him as a community leader, mentor, and inspiration.

"Receiving the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his many years of community service, George Hurst has been an active member of the Toronto-Leaside Rotary Club since 1987." His leadership in establishing the annual Community Corn Roast in Trace Manes Park is a testament to his commitment to service. For 20 years, George chaired the organizing committee for this beloved event, which continues to thrive 28 years later.

George’s decades of community service truly exemplify the Rotary motto of "service above self." His dedication not only enriches our community but also inspires all of us to give back. Let’s celebrate George and all that he represents in our shared commitment to making Leaside a better place!

Thank you, George, for all that you do!
