Pictured here is President Liz Compton with members Karen Moore & Sandy Friedrich assembling the self-care bags and delivering them to the women! We hope they enjoy!

The Toronto-Leaside Rotary Club was honoured to deliver self-care packages for the new Mothers @ Massey Centre for Women yesterday. This was part of the community outreach portion of the District 7070 conference!

Our club has supported Massey Centre over the years as it is local to the club, not to mention an amazing organization. They are a client-centered infant and early childhood mental health organization which supports pregnant and parenting adolescents, aged 13-25 and their babies who reside at the Centre or in the community. This is done through helping young moms:

* Graduate high school, and pursue postsecondary education or job training
* Find safe housing, either at our centre or in the community
* Access a monthly housing subsidy (while funding is available) for apartments
* Learn to parent and bond with their children
* Heal from trauma and address mental health concerns
* Improve their life skills such as cooking and budgeting
* Build healthy relationship skills
* Access affordable, high quality childcare options

Recently, we supported the organization in upgrading their wireless services to help the women apply for jobs and advance their education. We thought it would be nice to help further through giving the moms some packages to help them practice self-care.
