We are pleased to introduce Suzanne Hanson as a new member of the Rotary Club of Toronto Leaside.
She was born in Leaside and is a retired lawyer. Until her recent retirement, she was Tax and Estate Planning Counsel with the firm of Fogler, Rubinoff LLP. Prior to joining that firm, she was a partner with the firm of Woolley, Dale & Dingwall and later established a boutique tax law firm with her tax partner under the name of Perks & Hanson. In 1978, she co-authored a book entitled “The Death of a Taxpayer” which is a reference source for lawyers, accountants and professionals in the insurance and financial planning industry. She never anticipated that the book would become a continued resource. The 13th edition will be published this year!Over the years, she has acted as a governor and member of the executive committee of the Canadian Tax Foundation, chair of Women’s College Hospital Foundation, chaired the Group Committee of a local Boy Scouts troop and volunteered with various school committees. She has two adult sons, two magnificent daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren who are the centre of my universe. She enjoys working with people and is anxious to provide her support to Rotary and the community in whatever way she can.
