Leaside Rotary Snapshot

Toronto Leaside Rotary Club

A snapshot of how we made a difference in the community and around the world in the past 2 years:

In our Community:
  • Supporting and contributing to the building fund for a new Hospice in Toronto
  • Sponsored youth in the Thorncliffe Park area to attend summer youth camps
  • Women and men soccer programs in Thorncliffe Park
  • Sending local boy scouts to the World Scout Jamboree
  • Fund and staff K Wing Veterans bingo once a month at Sunnybrook Hospital
  • Planting 350 trees and shrubs involving 250 students from Leaside schools each year at Moccasin Trail Park as part of the Rotary Ecosystem Education Project
  • Hold a two (2) day Electronic Recycling event each year in the community
  • Annual Community Corn Roast each September at Trace Manes Park

Internationally:
  • Supporting Global Polio Eradication Initiative around the world
  • “Sleeping Children around the World” program
  • Building public toilets in Pakistan
  • Building new school in rural area of Uganda
(These international projects are accomplished with the help of other Rotary clubs in our area and in those countries overseas).
It is amazing what can be accomplished by a small club like ours in partnership with other Rotary clubs and our local business community.
